Hackney Blacksmith’s Forge – a great venue for a little wine event

Last week, we trundled (and I mean trundled) north to Hackney Downs for our much anticipated north London organic wine tasting event.  With three vehicles in convoy, we all agreed to bypass the congestion zone and opt for the cheaper ‘congested’ alternative.  Hackney Tasting collage

Now spare a thought for the good folk of Elephant & Castle, Shoreditch and in particular Whitechapel, who must be at their wits’ end with the traffic chaos of their areas.   Please Boris, do something about this fast – a mere 15 miles from Wimbledon?  It felt more like 150!

Fortunately, we’d left sufficient time and arrived at this great little venue in the heart of Hackney Downs Studios.  A real, working blacksmith’s forge transformed into a great wine tasting venue for the evening.  Small and intimate, we invited 45 people to the event and delighted them with a display of organic and bio-dynamic wines, English and French cheeses and some home-made 2014 vintage hot tomato chutney, washed down with Sacchetto pink bubbly, of course!

Next big portfolio event – Wednesday 26th November.  As the big ‘C’ looms, we’ll be pulling out the stops to celebrate the end of the year in style.
