Spicy lentil stew or rich beef in a Yorkshire pud!
£17.99
Vesuvius, Italy
Grown on volcanic soils of the southern slopes of Mount Vesuvius. the Sorrentino family harvest their grapes manually harvested around the end of September and fermented in stainless steel. No oak is used and they practice 100% organic production. You get a fabulous minerality and ‘healthiness’ to the wine, arguably a style unique to vines grown on volcanic soils. You’ll see what I mean when you taste it.
Bright, fruity aromas, things like cherry, strawberry, then spices and a bit of vanilla, coffee, chocolate. This Aglianico is fairly full-bodied, there are soft tannins which work wonderfully with food accompaniments. Perfect to with sliced meats, soups and pasta dishes, lasagna, white meats and light main courses – all sorts really. Want to read more about volcanic wines? Check out this link>
