Hints of white flowers, pink grapefruit, lychee and fresh herbs and spices. The punchy aromatics leave you surprised as this wine is surprisingly delicate on the palate. The wine spends some time on the skins so you will get a bit of tannin on the finish, albeit mellow, soft and lingering.
Arianna, the winemaker, produces this wine under the tutelage of her uncle, Giusto Occhipinti who owns and runs the famous COS estate, not too far from the volcanic activity of Mount Etna. SP68 is the name of the main road that passes through Arianna’s home town of Vittoria, where she has been making wine for the past 10 years following entirely biodynamic principles. Note: The Zibibbo grape is also known as Muscat of Alexandria – it is amongst the oldest genetically unmodified grape still in existence.
This wine is unfiltered and unfined.
