Baglio Antico Bianco IGP, Ciello – ORANGE

An Orange wine that isn’t too unusual.  Orange wines are produced in a similar way to red wine in that the white grapes spend some time on their skins.  The rich orange colour comes from oxidation and pigment in the grape skins.  This wine spent a few weeks macerating on the skins during the wild yeast fermentation and the wine is bottled with low sulphur and no filtration.  Every glass is a reduction in your carbon footprint!

Rich and unctuous, this is an approachable natural wine with lots of rich fruit to draw you in.  Think  There is good structure which means it will hold up well to bigger foods than your average white wine.  So get the barbecue fired up and get cooking!

This is a really good entry point into the world of orange and natural wines, and at an excellent price point too.
