Now in its 20th year of existence and the holder of Chilean Winery of the Year Award (2013 / 2014), this family-owned estate continues to pride itself on its eye for quality. One of the first wineries to be established in the now highly renowned Casablanca region, Casas del Bosque is positioned amongst pine forests and olive groves. The name quite literally means ‘houses of forests’.
The winery strives to produce wines in a thoughtful, non-invasive manner, working with organic materials where possible and ensuring a ‘quality over quantity’ ethos. This Reserva Pinot Noir has all the attributes that you would expect – elegance, accentuated wild berry ripeness, spice and a firm acidity to ensure that it has the capacity to age elegantly.
Lightly chilled Pinot Noir is becoming increasingly popular on its own as an aperitif. Alternatively, lightly grilled lamb chops are a clear favourite. Try too with a creamy Bleu d’Auvergne cheese from France.
