Food Pairing
A good cheeseboard would be a great accompaniment to this wine. Beaufort, Comte, Vacherin, Epoisses, something goaty and don’t scrimp on the crackers. Really good quality sourdough crackers makes all the difference.

This beautiful Haut Médoc property dates way back to the 11th century and it is written that even Francois 1st of France stayed here during his reign. Since then, considerable investment has ensured the property is now in mint condition with a state of the art winery.
Chateau Fontesteau is a charming vineyard, producing consistently pleasing claret wines vintage after vintage. The latest 2016 is drinking nicely now and has the structural capacity to see it maturing for many years to come. The 30 hectares of vineyards at Chateau Fontesteau are grown on a chalk based soil with gravel. The winemaker uses a combination of the most traditional methods whilst still embracing modern technology to get the best from the wine.
The dominant grape is of course Cabernet Sauvignon with the perfect balance of Cabernet Franc and Merlot to round off the delicious flavours.
