Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee des Sommeliers 2017 Christophe Mestre HALF

The Mestre family have been making with in Chateauneuf for four generations, with Christophe the most recent winemaker, heading up the 17 hectare estate, 15 of which are red and the rest white.
Tradition and authenticity are deep in the family psyche, not forgetting a keen eye on protecting the environment.
Grapes are destemmed and vinified in concrete tanks for up to 30 days. The wine settles for 3 months after which half is transferred to oak barrels for further maturation before releasing onto the market.
The half bottles are good drink now which the full bottles will benefit for a couple more years of bottle ageing.
