Grace Koshu Kayagatake 2018

The Japanese have a highly successfully (if small) wine industry. Unsurprisingly, their wines are delicate, floral and elegantly restrained, which makes them a perfect accompaniment to Sushi food and light salad dishes with a few garlic prawns thrown in. This Koshu is stainless steel fermented with no oak ageing, making it crisp and youthful. As it ages, the colour and aromatics will develop. The Koshu grape is beautifully pink in colour, yet it conveys no colour into the wine. Rarely exported and hence a great curio to impress with!
