Wonderfully aromatic with plenty of primary red fruit aromas, with notes of mocha, coffee, vanilla and nutty oak flavours. Round and balanced, with ripe tannins and a velvety texture that leads to a long finish. The wine was barrel aged for 12 months and underwent considerable bottle ageing before release.
Interesting fact: The Monemvasia winery was founded in the late ’90s with one clear objective: to revive the production of Malvasia. The Frankish name for Monemvasia is Malvasia. The tiny town of Monemvasia is situated on an island, linked to the Peloponnese by a causeway.
