You would not be a fool to choose The Idiot! Philip Shaw is a character through and through and, without doubt, his wines reflect this (as well as his seriously smart bottle labels). It’s all about the vineyard with Philip – “the best fruit produces the best wine”. He’s a stickler for ensuring his vines are nurtured at every level and it’s no wonder he’s gained so much world recognition.
This is rounded, spicy and brimming with personality – like Mr Shaw himself. Flavours of liquorice lead to intense fruit, this wine is more reminiscent of northern Rhone than Australia.
