Reporting back on Hannibal’s latest Wine Tasting Event
Many of you will recall the fantastic evening of wine swilling, canape comparing and general foot tapping to the music at Hannibal’s Christmas Wine Tasting. We held that one at the award-winning Absolute Abode Design Emporium in Raynes Park and loved every minute of it.

Jude King of Hannibal Brown with Mayor of Wandsworth and Gill Perkins of Wandsworth Oasis
So when we met the good folk of Wandsworth Oasis, we knew it had to be even bigger and even better – and it was!
We struck a wonderful collaboration with the Oasis, a highly respect local charity that supports local people living with HIV. Together, we put on The Old Curiosity Wine Adventure, introducing some of our wine curios from unusual origins, and raised a very admirable £1,500 for the charity. Top prize in our raffle was a magnum of personalised wine, specially designed for the occasion.
100 guests from across south west London and Surrey dropped in for a great tasting extravaganza – residents, general wine fanatics and local businesses, making for a relaxed networking opportunity as well as a great social event.
We chose 25 wines to fit the theme. Top choice of the evening was a relative new wine to our portfolio – Parpinello’s delicious Vermentino from Sardinia, followed closely by Chateau Ksara ‘Prieure’ – a wonderfully classic red from this ancient Lebanese winery. We were delighted that our guests embraced the ‘unusual’ theme and by all accounts they all had a great evening. Also joining us was our good friend Mark Ferguson, who represented the award-winning Exton Wine Estate (how many Gold Medals Mark?!)
Nearly forgot – Wandsworth’s very own Mayor attended! We were delighted to welcome her and a bit of press activity in the local Guardian put the icing on our vinous cake.
