Wine and hockey really do mix!

,

OK, so I’m a bit late in writing this, but better late than never and this event was simply too good to ignore.

Last week, Hannibal Brown joined forces with the oldest ladies’ hockey club in the world, Wimbledon, to help them celebrate their 125th anniversary.  The weekend’s celebrations were held at their home ground, The Wimbledon Club.  (For those in the ‘know’, this is not the All England, but the entrance is bang opposite.)  The club brought together a fantastic ‘museum of hockey through the ages’ and the celebrations culminated in a wine & cheese reception on the Saturday evening.  On the Sunday, a series of invitation games were held on traditional, pristine grass pitches, with guests playing in Victorian dress for the occasion!

For Hannibal Brown’s part, we were delighted to be asked to provide an anniversary wine label, designed in-house and featuring a pencil drawing of their club house and an ancient photo of the original Victorian players.

By all accounts, the Wimbledon club members were delighted with their exclusive mementoes and the lasting memory that we hope the labelled bottles will provide.   The wines supplied were Chablis from Gerard Tremblay and Organic Malbec from Santa Julia.  Cheers Wimbledon HC!
