Wine & Cheese – yes pleeeease!
After the success of our Cabernet & Cacao wine & chocolate pairing event last month, we revert back to a somewhat more traditional form of serving wine… so for those cheese lovers out there, join us this Thursday 3rd November and taste some of the country’s most incredible wines from the good folk at Orsom Dairy, Nantwich.
Hannibal Brown and Orsom linked up a few years ago, when, exhibiting on a miserable Bank Holiday weekend in Liverpool, we each saw the potential for collaboration. Orsom were just re-launching with their stunning new branding (as well as exceptional hand-made cheeses); Hannibal Brown was still finding his feet after just a year of trading.
Since then, Orsom’s Winston mature hand-made Cheddar has served us well. We found the perfect match in Bodega Dominum’s ‘Gavanza’ Rioja Reserva 2008 and have put smiles on people’s faces wherever we’ve offered the combo.
Based up in Cheshire, Orsom keep a relatively low profile. But those cheese monsters amongst us (and those just generally ‘in the know’) are well aware of this prestigious production.
Of course, it’s not just about Rioja wine and Winston – and that’s what this Thursday’s tasting sets out to demonstrate… Taking place at the Museum of Wimbledon, Wimbledon Village, we’ll be showcasing 16 wines from 4 continents and matching them to Orsom’s entire range of cheeses. We’re planning on showing some intriguing combinations, which, we know, we won’t be able to resist temptation! We’ll be launching Orsom’s recent addition to their range – Lester – unsurprisingly, it’s a Red Leicester.
Hannibal Brown is busy putting the final touches on the tasting sheet. You can be sure that the emphasis will be on organic wines, bio-dynamic wines and downright tasty wines. We have some new kids on the block from France, Italy and Spain – and it’ll be the first opportunity to showcase our recent arrival from Dracula himself – Castellum Dracula makes his debut all the way from Roumania.
And not forgetting the opportunity to personalise your wine for birthdays, events and of course Christmas. Do pop along this Thursday. Doors open at 6.30pm. You’ll be warmly received as always.
